Situated in Werribee South, Southwest of Melbourne, the Werribee Open Range Zoo is an African themed zoo located on the Weeibee River. Spread across an area of 560 acres, the zoo was opened to the public in 1983 and is home to Hippopotamus, Zebra, Giraffe, Meerkat, African Wild Dogs, Rhinoceros, and Australian animals as well.

The Werribee Open Range Zoo also boasts a simulated African village. Visitors can follow two trails inside the zoo to explore the region. The Zoo's Learning Centre is a great place to know more about the animals and their native lands. Visitors can also book the Off-Road Safari.
